The book begins with this sentence:
July 1989.

It was the first time I heard a Kalashnikov firing.

And it was against people.

That night, we would have never imagined having to run away,

looking back embracing some beers.

This project it’s about the evolution of the areas adjacent to the Domitian Road (as indicated in the map). These are the areas of my summer holidays of 25-30 years ago. At that time were wild places, a few houses, with nature still strong. But even in those years began the legal and illegal construction boom that filled the cement throughout the area, making it a symbol of unauthorized and illegality.

Illegality called illegality, and over time the area has degraded to being one of the main drugs marketplace in the south Italy, headquarters of the Nigerian mafia (born in Castel Volturno and not in Nigeria), the commercial area of Mafia Casalese and Neapolitan Camorra and area of illegal waste discharges.

It is not a journalistic document about a single event or theme, but it is a path between memories and reality who cares about the future of a place that has no owner, no charge and unfortunately no heir.
